Kasich and Business in Ohio

On Monday, John Kasich was sworn in as Ohio’s 69th Governor and been working tirelessly to send the message that Ohio is open for business again.
Below, you can find highlights of some of the Governor's activities in his first days in office.
1. Governor Kasich was sworn in as Ohio’s 69th Governor.

2. Governor Kasich announced venture capitalist Mark Kvamme as the new Director of the Ohio Department of Development. With Gov. Kasich’s pro-jobs agenda and Mr. Kvamme’s experience facilitating high-tech and innovative job creation, Ohio has exciting times ahead.

3. On Tuesday, Governor Kasich announced Lt. Governor Mary Taylor as the new Director of the Ohio Department of Insurance. Immediately afterward, Gov. Kasich signed an Executive Order creating the Common Sense Initiative to identify and eliminate job-killing, burdensome regulations. 

4. Also on Tuesday, Governor Kasich joined Senator Rob Portman in speaking at the Dayton Development Coalition’s annual conference. Again, the message was about creating a pro-business environment in Ohio. You can read more here.

5. On Wednesday, Governor Kasich led a delegation of Ohio officials to meet with business leaders from the “Big 3” auto companies at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

6. Finally, the theme this week and moving forward is that we are one team in Ohio. While visiting the Statehouse legislative lunch, Governor Kasich spoke to this point of unity.
